The 243PA soprano (descant) recorder is made from Palsiander wood, which gives the instrument a warm, resonant and clear tone.
The oils used to treat the bore and parts of the outer surfaces are free from additives and, where available, of pharmaceutical grade purity.

The characteristic FEHR sound is achieved through specialised craftsmanship techniques dating back to the founder, Hans Conrad Fehr, and which have been refined and improved by the instrument makers at the FEHR workshop over the decades.
Ergonomic design
It is often the small details that determine whether a recorder is comfortable to hold or not. In addition to the position and size of the tone holes, it is the diameter and shape of the foot joint that make it easier for the little finger of the right hand to reach the lowest tone holes.
