Aulos, Garklein in c''', plastic
US$54.00*
The instrument with the article number: 501S-AUL, made by Aulos, is a companion that gives you tireless joy when making music.
This is due to the carefully considered marriage of the pioneering model design in symbiosis with the sound characteristics of the plastic material used.
The special qualities of the material used in this instrument are particularly impressive. The characteristics can be described as follows, whereby it is in the nature of things that sounds can only ever be inadequately described in words. For this reason, the sound of recorders is perceived and described slightly differently by each person: .
The scale
The inner bore of the instrument is slightly cylindroconical. This type of bore gives the instrument its typical sound.
In principle, recorders with a wider bore sound warmer, fuller, more fundamental and therefore more suitable for ensembles than instruments with a narrower scale.
For which musical styles can the instrument be best used?
Plastic is predestined for recorders that are mainly used for choral playing, recorder ensembles and orchestras, other styles are possible.
Who the instrument is aimed at
It follows from this that plastic instruments are particularly suitable for ambitious amateurs and advanced players. Another basic rule to bear in mind is that a higher-quality instrument generally makes learning progress less complicated than a seemingly inexpensive bargain.
The windway of the recorder
The windway is the area in the headjoint of the recorder where the air is moulded into a sheet of air. This air blade is the nucleus of the recorder's sound.
In interaction with the labium, the vibration that fundamentally generates the flute sound is created from this air blade. The shape of the windway is therefore
extremely influential
for influencing the available sounds of the instrument. The windway of the Aulos model 501S-AUL is constructed as follows: Straight cylindrical.Conical windways accelerate the air blade more than cylindrically shaped ones. Windways are very complex in their design and many parameters are influenced by each other.
Fingering
The Aulos 501S-AUL instrument is supplied in fingering: Baroque single hole.
Construction method
The number of individual parts of a recorder has a strong influence on the way in which it can be handled in terms of ease of assembly on the one hand and ease of transport on the other. This is a point that should not be underestimated, especially when transporting larger (and sometimes several) instruments.
Just ask veteran ensemble managers.
Packaging and accessories
The model is supplied as standard with a bag and useful accessories:
Hygiene tips
If the recorder is shared, you should consider sterilising the beak area if necessary to ensure hygienic safety.
Flautisept has proven effective for this purpose. Flautisept is available in our collection.
It works with the following surfaces:

To be on the safe side, test Fautisept on an inconspicuous area before use to ensure that it does not leave any unwanted marks on your recorder.
Optional information on keys
It is not always possible to place tone holes in places in the body that are easy and comfortable to play with your fingers. Especially on larger instruments, tone holes are not ergonomically accessible for acoustic reasons. Keys are fitted to these instruments to make playing much easier or even possible in the first place.
The 501S-AUL instrument has the following keys: . This makes it easy to play even for players with smaller hands.
